June 30, 2017

INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana (CAC) and Jennifer Washburn, CAC Staff Attorney, filed a complaint in Marion County Court today against the Office of the Governor of the State of Indiana alleging violations of the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (APRA). Among other things, the complaint asks the Court to enter judgement against the Office of the Governor and make available the documents requested by CAC.

Today, Citizens Action Coalition released a legal analysis of the controversial, anti-solar bill SB309 authored by Senator Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek). Jennifer Washburn, Counsel for CAC, authored the memo, which raises significant concerns over the language of the bill and the claims made by proponents of the legislation.

August 12, 2016

On August 11th, Citizens Action Coalition filed testimony before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) in Cause No. 44792. In this proceeding, Indianapolis Power & Light (“IPL”) is seeking approval to continue their energy efficiency programs through calendar year 2017 and recover program costs, so-called lost revenues and financial incentives from their captive ratepayers.

Attorneys for the LaPorte County Commissioners and the state's largest consumer advocacy group, Citizens Action Coalition (CAC), yesterday filed a Request for Reconsideration with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) asking the agency to reconsider that portion of its recent NIPSCO rate case order dealing with customer service issues.

Today, the Energy and Policy Institute (EPI), Citizens Action Coalition (CAC) and Common Cause Indiana (CCIN) filed a petition for rehearing with the Indiana Supreme Court regarding their lawsuit to require the House Republican Caucus to comply with the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (APRA). Also filed with the Court today was an amicus brief filed by The Indiana Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Indiana Associated Press Media Editors supporting the groups’ request for rehearing.
