Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana, Inc. (CAC) is a 501(c)4 not-for-profit organization. CAC’s program involves issues such as energy policy, utility reform, health care, pollution prevention, and family farms. In order to achieve the objective to protect consumers in Indiana, CAC’s activities include performing research, carrying out public education campaigns, organizing citizens, creating public awareness, lobbying legislators, intervening in utility cases before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and litigating when necessary.
CAC’s primary source of income is the individual contributions which our members and supporters make through ongoing door-to-door and telephone community outreach. CAC’s income for 2012 was $880,404, and CAC’s expenses for 2012 were $902,159. The graph below helps illustrate how those expenses are distributed. The percentages may vary slightly from year to year, but remain relatively stable. CAC’s voluntary annual audit is performed by Mike Gaby, CPA.
