“At a micro level, the Trump administration is hurting consumers,” said Jennifer Washburn, counsel on energy and environment for Citizens Action Coalition, a public policy advocacy group based in Indianapolis. “At a macro level, when we’re looking at systemwide cost and benefits of using less energy, he’s making it so that we’re going to have to be relying more from our power plants and produce more emissions.”

Renewable energy proposals dominate Vectren's search for new power generation
Vectren has joined a growing number of other utilities shifting to renewable energy sources, said energy policy analyst Ben Inskeep, who is a board member for Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana.
It's a decision that could have implications for the next several decades, he said.
"Typically, what we are seeing is a growing reliance on renewable energy and it's a strong option for Vectren," Inskeep said.

OUCC: I&M's Rate Proposal Not As Green Or Beneficial To Customers

“It's very disheartening to see a company that is financially healthy, performing well in the marketplace, pleasing their investors. Meanwhile, customers continue to struggle with their bills,” he says.
