February 14, 2013 Indiana General Assembly Update
The House sponsor of the bill will be Rep. Eric Koch (R, Bedford) and the House co-sponsor will be Rep. Heath VanNatter (R, Kokomo).
It is extremely important to contact your Representative NOW and remind him/her to oppose SB560.
A vote on the bill will take place next week, so now is the time to get in touch with your legislators and tell them to support SB510.
Tell your State Senator and State Representative to:
- Vote NO on SB560. It eliminates consumer protections and essentially allows utilities to raise rates on their own with no oversight by the IURC.
- Vote YES on SB510 & HB1515. These will protect us from unreasonable and excessive charges for substitute natural gas (SNG) from the proposed Indiana Gasification/Leucadia coal-to-gas plant in Rockport, Indiana.
