Human Service and Public Interest Advocates Agree to Settlement with IPL and Other Parties in Rate Case

INDIANAPOLIS -- July 19, 2018 -- Citizens Action Coalition (CAC), Indiana Coalition for Human Services (ICHS), Indiana Community Action Association (INCAA), and the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter joined a settlement reached by all parties in the Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) base rate case. The settlement was filed today with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC). The agreement remains subject to review and approval by the IURC.

CAC files testimony in IPL energy efficiency case

On August 11th, Citizens Action Coalition filed testimony before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (“IURC”) in Cause No. 44792. In this proceeding, Indianapolis Power & Light (“IPL”) is seeking approval to continue their energy efficiency programs through calendar year 2017 and recover program costs, so-called lost revenues and financial incentives from their captive ratepayers.

Broad Coalition: Reject IPL's Monthly Increase and Create Rate Class for Vulnerable Populations

A broad and diverse coalition of consumer, human service, and social justice organizations filed testimony yesterday in the rate case of Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL), currently pending before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC), requesting that the IURC reject IPL’s proposed increase in the fixed monthly charge and asking that the IURC order IPL to create a low-income rate class to assist vulnerable Hoosier ratepayers in managing their monthly bills.
